Fee:   $90.00 for members in good standing/$160.00 for Non-Members or members in poor standing

Registration is open.  You can request a second class with the same dog BUT send a separate check in case the class fills, and you do not get in.  All checks made to SICDTC...
 
Monday - Lynda Hammond
6-7 PM.  Skills Class
Take two skills per week and train them. Skills will include contacts, weave entries, serpentines, 270's, 180's, RCs, FCs. These will not be full courses but exercises set up to train specific skills.(Novice level)
7-8 PM.  Handling Class
This will alternate between Jumpers and Standard courses. (Excellent level)
8-9PM.  Judge's Dread
These will be actual sequences taken from real courses that could use another look due to their difficulty.  We will break down the different handling strategies for each sequence and determine which works best for each team.  Students may submit courses to work on in class.  (currently competing)
9-10PM.  Distance Handling
This class will teach skills that will enable your dog to start working away from you....... the skills needed to compete in Gamblers, FAST, and 4 leaf Clover type classes.  Depending on how advanced the dogs become, we may work on actual courses toward the end of the session. (all levels)
 
Lynda specifically asks "Students in EVERY class should be prepared to bring out and/or move equipment and should arrive in time to assist with building of courses".

Registration Process:  Checks for continuing in classes are due between the 6th-7th week of each session and it is the responsibility of the students’ to send in their check.   ONLY Checks received reserve your dog(s) space and should be made out to SICDTC, with the following: your name, the dog’s name, breed, your phone number, e-mail address and class(es) requested.   There is a 8 dog limit per outdoor class.    

 Advanced Class Registration: Checks made out to SICDTC should be mailed to:  Diane Lange, 405 Hoyt Avenue, S.I. NY 10301 with your contact info, dog’s name and class(es) requested.   Registration is Advanced Beginner thru Excellent.   After the spring session, all checks can be placed in the mailbox at the field in the office trailer.

Competition Beginner Agility:  

    Pre-requisite:   Completion of Beginner Obedience I and II with a reliable recall, a stay command and control on leash Exceptions to this pre-requisite may be considered if you have earned Advanced Agility Titles on prior dog(s), but this must be discussed with the Agility Director.
 

    New Beginner Agility Classes are NOT started every session, but we do accept dogs onto a waiting list for future classes.   Members and Non-Members should call the 718-761-8048 and leave your contact information on the Agility voicemail box if you are interested Competition Agility Classes.

Excellent/Masters Level


Pre-Req:  Actively trialing at agility events at the Excellent/Masters Level
 

PLEASE NOTE: 

·         The potty area at the field is located behind the office trailer and before the gazebo; and you must clean up after your dog.

·         The Agility field is a bring in/take out.  There is no longer any garbage disposal at the field.

·         The SICDTC Agility Rules state that as a part of the SICDTC Agility class curriculum that ALL students are required to take out, move and put away equipment as necessary.   This includes settings bars, etc.

  • Zero tolerance on either people and/or dog aggressive dogs.  Any issues will be reviewed and if there determined to be an issue, the dog will be asked to leave without a refund.

·         Inclement weather: If classes are going to be cancelled due to inclement weather (rain, heat, snow, storms), there will be a message on the SICDTC Agility voicemail box (718-761-8048) at least  one and half  hours before the start of the first class on that day.  Please call that number to find out if class has been cancelled.  No other communication will be sent.

  • Drop-ins The max # is 8 dogs per class.    Fees are $15 per dog per handler for members and $20 per dog per non-member/member in poor standing.  There is a 4 class maximum per handler for drop-ins, after which full fee applies.  This money must be placed in the mailbox located at the field in an envelope with your name and the class you dropped into.
